Alex, the older of the two Van Halen brothers, started his musical "career" by playing the piano, just like his younger brother, Eddie. (You can hear Alex playing piano on the Twister soundtrack on "Respect the Wind") The Van Halen Family moved to CA where Alex decides to go out and buy himself a guitar, and Eddie gets himself a drum kit.. But, while Eddie is out doing his paper boy job, Alex sneaks practicing time on his brother's drum kit. Well, eventually, Alex became better than Eddie on drums, so Eddie switches to guitar. (As it should have been at the beginning!) So the rest, as they say, is history!! Alex was married, then divorced, and now has a son, Aric Van Halen.
